In Matthew 17:20b, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
I always thought I needed big faith to accomplish God’s will and His plans for my life. But really, what He’s telling us here is that we just need a little faith, even the faith the size of a mustard seed, and nothing will be impossible for us. However, our faith is not in our faith, but in our God. God wants to do limitless great things through us. We are not adequate in ourselves, but our adequacy is in God.
God wants to do great things through you. All you need is faith in Him—even small faith.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20
Have a great day!😊
Do you ever feel like you have to forever be reminded of God’s love and faithfulness? That’s totally me. Sometimes I think it’s just the being human thing, but other times I realize it’s the constant warfare we’re battling in this world. If I seriously think about it, in only a 24-hour period, I can easily be overwhelmed by negative news headlines, negative people, sadness in the world, and my own negative, anxious thoughts. In fact, I would say my own thoughts are my own worst enemy.
We all live with day-to-day decisions and associated drama in our jobs, homes, child-rearing, and relationships. Add in world affairs, disease, trauma, unkindness, and resentfulness, and you’ve got a recipe for chaos, anxiety, and no peace. It’s looking pretty ugly and hopeless, isn’t it?
We take a moment, and we pray for help, for strength, for anything good. Then, in walks Jesus into our day, right into our mess. He reminds us that He is in control of this world. He knows what is happening, and He has a plan for the world and for you and me. He says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b). He sees our situations and He tells us that He will fight for us, that we only need to be still and wait on him (Exodus 14:14). He reminds us we are His. “Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.” (Psalms 100:3). He gives us strength to get through our days and holds us up. “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10).
So this is just a reminder for us, as we do battle in this world, that we don’t have to do this life alone. We are worthy of God’s love and protection because of Jesus. He is always with us. He fights our battles. He gives us strength. He holds us up. And most of all, He loves us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16):
Take those promises to your daily battle, and have a great day!❤️
